Our 40+ page lesson guide, is a guide to help parents and educators teach children survival skills like bushcraft and is a MUST have for forest-schools and nature inspired homeschoolers! 

We have created this guide into 6 chapters,making it easy to navigate.Each chapter includes a bushcraft skills,with helpful information and how tos. We love getting kids outdoors and keeping them wild.

 

WHAT IS BUSHCRAFT?

Bushcraft is a set of survival skills that  teach children invaluable lessons about the natural world, resilience, and problem-solving, enabling them to survive and excel in the wilderness. It offers a fun and educational approach to connect with nature and understand the environment.

 

WHATS INCLUDED IN THIS GUIDE:

In depth how to's, with information, real photos and some QR codes for certain chapters to further your understanding via videos.

INCLUDED IS TO VERSION OF THIS GUIDE (both contain different photos, so you can pick which guide you prefer)

 

The 6 chapters include:

 

CHAPTER1 - FIRE- In this chapter children will learn how to create fire without matches using 3 different popular methods, we also go over the important three pillars to create fire.

 

CHAPTER 2 - SHELTER- kids will learn important skills and steps to take when finding shelter in the wild, In this chapter we also go over how to create 4 basic and common types of shelters to build in survival.

 

CHAPTER 3- WATER SOURCE - Finding and locating water in the wild is very important for survival in chapter 3, we dissuss ways to help teach kids to locate water in the wild, ways to collect it and purify.

 

CHAPTER 4- FORAGING - In chapter 4 we go over some ways to locate and forage for edibles including 8 common plants in the wild to eat.

 

CHAPTER 5- WHITTLING-  Learning skills like whittling is not only a fun , hands on experience for children but is a great resource to know ,if they need to survive in the wild. This chapter shows you ways, how you can teach children about whittling,and we also discuss 3 different techniques to use when learning to carve with a knife.

 

CHAPTER 6- TRAPPING - In this last chapter we discuss ways to teach kids how to trap wild prey in for survival purposes when surviving using 3 trapping/hunting methods,children will also learn different methods to cook and preserve meat in the wild.

 

Not only does bushcraft skills help children gain valuable knowledge that can instill confidence, independence, and resilience, but it also helps them reconnect to their wild roots.

To be printed on A4 SIZE PAPER (we recommend thick cardstock, as this works great for real photographs), punch holes and add twine to create your book, 

or would be great binded .
