This is a list of government APPROVED home-school registration learning plans and reports for my children in AUSTRALIA who follow a natural UNSCHOOLING approach to education while living on a small island. My children learn only by curiosities, daily life and on the spot moments. You will see how we cover the required learning outcomes in our approved samples using this approach.
We hope this helps you with your unschooling registration and reporting OR for those who are looking at starting unschooling, we hope this gives you a glimpse as to how everyday life allows children to learning naturally through being allowed to UNSCHOOL and chase curiosities.
So in Australia it is legal to unschool your child in every state and territory as long as you register as HOME-SCHOOLERS just like every other home-educating parent.I still have to report on their progress at the end of each year aswell as create another learning plan for the next year on how my children will learn the Australian key subjects - English,maths,history,geography,arts,pdhpe,science . It has to be approved by the homeschooling department director of our state which currently is the QLD government each year.
Each learning report and plan needs to answer the questions we are given , these include things like where will homeschooling take place, what times,short term goals, etc. As we take a full unschooling/natural approach to my childrens education, I base their reports and plans around that, simply their island living life and their interests. I tailor my reports and plans to suit each child and use the same template for the three of them each year as alot of what they do is combined together (this is great if you have multiple children and need to create one for each child, just twerk the plan to suit that child) also i LOVE TAKING PHOTOS of anything and everything my children do and get up to each year, this helps ALOT especially as unschoolers i can look through my photos at the end of each year, which allows me to see what learning we have done! (highly recommend using photos as a unschooling apoporach to keeping track)
